High Level Event: The EL Niño Southern Oscillation in East and Southern Africa

As Eastern and Southern Africa continue to face the impacts of the ongoing El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), key ministers and high-level representatives will gather for a strategic roundtable to discuss and co-create policy directions for disaster risk reduction. This high-level meeting, taking place on 22 October during the 9th Africa Regional Platform on DRR in Windhoek, will serve as a platform for governments to share experiences, identify effective strategies, and commit to long-term actions that break the cycle of recurrent ENSO-related disasters. The outcome of this session will be a communique that sets the course for collaborative efforts in enhancing resilience across the region.
